How to Measure Your Countertop

Three measurements cover most runs. Send a photo with your rough numbers and we’ll confirm the drawing before anything is cut.

01

Size

Measure the run left to right for length and front to back for depth, including any overhang past the cabinet face. Any length to 144″ and any depth to 30″, in half-inch steps.

02

Walls

Note which sides meet a wall. That sets where the backsplash runs go and which edges can take a profile — an edge against a wall is left square.

03

The bath

Note where the bath should sit along the run — centred, or offset toward one end. The 5315 is 24″ × 14″ overall, so the top must be at least 30″ long and 21″ deep.

Questions

Medical Birthing Countertops FAQ

What is the 5315 Baby Bath?

A Corian® healthcare lavatory from the Care Collection, made for bathing newborns: 24″ × 14″ overall, 22-1/2″ × 12-1/2″ inside, 6-1/8″ deep, with a 1-3/4″ drain at the deep end and an integral left-side overflow as standard.

Is the bath part of the countertop?

Yes. It is integrated into the top — bonded and finished with no rim and no sealant line, so there is no joint to harbour bacteria. Every top in this configurator carries one.

What colors does the bath come in?

Glacier White, Cameo White, Bone and Bisque — color- and translucency-matched to sheet of the same name for a continuous appearance.

Is it suitable for clinical settings?

Corian® solid surface is non-porous and, with proper cleaning, resists mold, mildew and stains. The 5315 complies with CSA B45.5/IAPMO Z124, and Corian® plumbing products are UL-listed to the Uniform and International Plumbing Codes.

How big does the countertop need to be?

At least 30″ long and 21″ deep to take the bath and its clearances; any length to 144″ beyond that.

How precise are the finished dimensions?

Every countertop is made to your exact dimensions, cut to machine accuracy.

Medical Birthing Countertops in Corian® Solid Surface

Medical birthing countertops — for birthing suites, mother-baby units, nurseries and neonatal rooms — made to your exact size in Corian® solid surface, each one built around the Corian® 5315 Baby Bath from the Care Collection. The bath is integrated into the top, bonded and finished with no rim and no sealant line, so there is no joint across the working surface.

Sized to the room

The top needs to be at least 30″ long and 21″ deep to take the bath and its clearances, and can run to 144″ beyond that. Set the length and depth, which sides meet a wall, the splash runs and the edge profile, and place the bath where the room wants it.

Edges, splash and finish

Eased, bevel, bullnose, cove, ogee and Roman ogee on the front edge, from solid stock up to a laminated build-up. The backsplash is coved or applied, to the height and profile you specify. Seams are chemically bonded and sanded flush, so a long run reads as one continuous piece.

Clinical surfaces

Corian® solid surface is non-porous and seamless, easy to clean and disinfect, and repairable in place — a scratch or a scuff is sanded out rather than replaced. With proper cleaning it resists mold, mildew and stains.

How it is made

Configure the top online and the configurator draws it live with the bath placed and dimensioned in it, then produces a fabrication-ready spec sheet: the plan, the edge section and the bath cutout detail. We confirm the drawing before anything is cut.
